Robin would like to invite all P-T leaders – official or unofficial – and anyone passionate about having a vital church to a five-week Lenten study and search for community vitality.
What makes for vitality in Christian communities these days?
In his book Five Practices of Fruitful Congregations, Bishop Schnase writes out of his rich experience overseeing many churches within his Methodist church. He concluded it comes down to 5 vital practices:
Please speak to Robin or Inge if you would like to join us and we will order this book for you at the reduced price of $14.36 (thanks to several orders already).
Sharing in meals together
Each week, Robin will order a simple meal (such as pizza) and after supping together we'll tackle one chapter and likely have stimulating discussion – and hope – about our faith community.
Shamrock Buffet & Sale: Join us for our annual Shamrock Buffet and Sale from 3:30 to 6:30 PM on March 10. Enjoy a menu of assorted salads, baked beans, rolls and squares, and browse through sales tables of home baking, jams/jellies and novelties. Price: $10.00. Please think green and bring a shopping bag for your purchases.
Remit Study: Worship & Pastoral Oversight and Education & Outreach will meet together at 7:00 PM to discuss the GC Remits.
Robin will be away from February 17 – 24. In case of Pastoral emergency, please call the Rev. Mead Baldwin at 819-837-1112.
We once again have an outlet for idle fingers this winter! Mental Health Estrie prepares festive “HUGS” packages (Hats, Underwear, Gloves, Socks) at this time of year for residents at the homeless shelter Accueil Poirier and the residence for the 18-30 age group, Source Soleil. The gift bags contain knitted hats, gloves, scarves and socks in adult sizes (especially for men, since 80% of the homeless are men), either hand-made or bought. Our “mitten tree” is ready to receive any “fruit” you can provide.
Please join the Education & Outreach Commission's traditional Lenten project - the calendar is now available. May it guide you through Lent in reflection and action!
A reminder to please make sure your car does not cross the yellow lines outlining the bike path in the church parking lot.
Wednesday afternoons, 1:30-2:30, in the chapel. Anyone who wishes to be part of this weekly gathering for song, readings and intercessory prayer is welcome; please enter by the back (parking lot) door. Anyone with a prayer request for the group should place it in the red box on the table at the back of the sanctuary.
Regular walks starting from Plymouth-Trinity at 12:00 noon each Wednesday.
